Melissa Lee, Teacher

Melissa Lee has been teaching at Malmo Preschool since 2006 and she absolutely loves it! She graduated from the University of Alberta with an Elementary Education degree. She also received her Early Child

hood Diploma from Grant MacEwan.

Melissa believes strongly in the learning through play philosophy. She knows that preschool is an opportunity for children to socialize and interact with other children that are a similar age. Melissa believes that through collaborative play at the preschool children develop important social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language skills.

Melissa knows that each child is unique. She brings out the best in each child at the preschool and fosters confidence and self-esteem in the children. Her kindness, creativity and enthusiasm ensure children have a positive first school experience.

Melissa grew up in Edmonton and enjoys being involved in the community. She loves spending time with her daughter and husband.  Melissa is excited to be returning to the preschool in the fall of 2018!

Caylen Belcourt, Teacher’s Assistant

Caylen Belcourt joined Malmo Preschool in March of 2016. After graduating from the Early Learning and Child Care diploma program at MacEwan University, Caylen helped out at a kids club for 6 years where she discovered her love for working with children and wanting to bring a positive influence into their lives. Caylen strongly believes in learning through play and believes that all children are capable, determined and competent people. She hopes to instill these beliefs to all the children around her at Preschool. She values being engaged with each child and co-learning beside them.

Caylen loves traveling the world and hopes to bring her positive energy and playfulness into the Malmo Preschool classroom.
